Stocks are moving higher midday Monday due in part to the jump in shares of TheStreet Pro Portfolio holding Nvidia NVDA. In today’s Daily Rundown video, we discussed how Taiwan Semiconductor’s TSM tweaked March-quarter top-line guidance and Foxconn’s January revenue report bring another layer of confirmation for strong AI and data center demand. With NVDA being the second largest holding in the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite behind Apple AAPL those data points from this morning are helping lift the market and portfolio.

Alongside its comments that March quarter revenue would likely fall toward the lower end of its $25 billion-$25.8 billion guidance, TSM also said its January revenue rose 35.9% year over year, a sequential increase of 5.4%. The key for us is even that lower end of the revenue range still equates to a top-line increase of more than 30% in the current quarter.

While we enjoy this, let’s remember the three items we discussed in today’s video that will be drivers of the market. Between President Trump unveiling his telegraphed reciprocal tariffs, Powell’s testimonies, and the January CPI report, Tuesday and Wednesday could be crucial days ahead. But being the investors that we are, we recognize that “follow through” is as important, especially when it comes to tariffs. That’s why we’ll be bracing for and then assessing any reciprocal in-kind tariffs or adjustments from impacted countries later this week.

Earnings We'll Be Digging Into This Week

We’ll continue to track monthly revenue reports from TSM, Foxconn, and others, but what we see so far backs the ramp in 2025 capex we’ve discussed over the last few weeks. We’ll look to capture the other side of that when Equinix EQIX and Digital Realty Trust DLR report later this week, update their capacity utilization levels, and discuss new facility plans for the coming year.

We’ll be doing the same when Dominion Energy D and Duke Energy DUK report this week. We’ll be interested in their comments about any greater use of nuclear power, a potential catalyst for our shares of the VanEck Uranium & Nuclear ETF NLR.
