After you receive this Alert, when the stock market opens, we will make the following trades:

-- Buy 95 shares of American Express AXP at or near $309.25. Following the trade, AXP shares will account for roughly 3.5% of the Pro Portfolio.

-- Buy 226 shares of TJX Companies TJX at or near $122.25. Following the trade, TJX shares will account for roughly 1.6% of the Pro Portfolio.

Following the post-earnings pullback in AXP shares, we are capitalizing on that opportunity as we and others across Wall Street have lifted our respective price targets. On Friday, we upped our AXP target to $340 from $310, but we are also seeing that JPMorgan upped its target to $343, Deutsche Bank boosted its to $375, and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods raised theirs to $371.

As we shared in our post-earnings analysis, our plan is to revisit our new price target as details for Amex’s Platinum card are made public later this year. We see that driving further gains in the company’s average fee per card, a key driver of the high-margin net card fee revenue stream. Remember, the key is Amex’s ability to deliver benefits to its membership that offset or, in some cases, more than offset card fees.

We are also adding to the Pro Portfolio’s newest holding, TJX. We’ve been biding our time with this one, waiting to see if technical support at the 200-day moving average held. That appears to be the case, and to that we can add the learnings from our Cash-Strapped Consumer signal over the weekend that Prime Day 2025 sales in the U.S. skewed to lower-priced items.

TJX also fits with the trade-down mentality we are seeing in consumers amid tariff and in some cases economic uncertainty. That, along with TJX’s ability to capitalize on retailer bankruptcies and store closings, positions it extremely well, in our view.

We will also note that by adding more shares of these dividend payers, we are further boosting the Pro Portfolio's dividend income stream, something we’ll be discussing more later today.
