We’ve got 29 top 2025 stock picks from 16 market analysts. It’s the best ideas list for this year from TheStreet Pro, and there’s something for everyone.
Our team’s picks include small-, mid- and large-cap stocks, plus a handful of ETFs. Nine different sectors are represented, plus one global pick and two ways to play the bull market in crypto.
So, what are our Pro’s favorites?
Let’s Kick it Off With Crypto
In "Why Bitcoin Is Central to This Top Investment Pick for 2025," James “Rev Shark” DePorre noted that the political climate has warmed up to Bitcoin, especially with Donald Trump's presidency. The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF IBIT is Rev’s top crypto pick for 2025.
Bob Byrne takes a slightly different approach to investing in crypto in "My Small-Cap Stock for 2025 Is a Picks and Shovels Play in Crypto and Finance." Rather than focus on a speculative instrument like Bitcoin itself, Bryne suggests a company that’s involved in a diverse set of crypto-related business segments. DeFi Technologies DEFTF makes money through DeFi infrastructure, crypto research, market making, asset management, venture investments and arbitrage and Byrne feels that this company should be trading at least 200% above it’s recent price.
Next Up, ETFs
There were nine different ETFs, for those looking to bet on a segment of the market and not a single company.
Since we’ve already covered the Bitcoin ETF that Rev picked, let’s move on to a more traditional store of value: silver.
Maleeha Bengali selected silver as her favorite investment for 2025 in "Silver Is the Top Commodity Pick for 2025 as Money Printing Accelerates." You can invest in silver in many ways, but the easiest is perhaps using the iShares Silver Trust SLV. It’s the largest silver ETF, and, since Bengali is a commodities trader and didn't specify an investment vehicle, the editorial team included this ETF to make tracking easier. If you’re comfortable trading the commodity markets, you can also look at futures contracts.
On the global front, Alex Frew McMillan is a fan of India, the world’s fastest-growing major economy. In "Why an India-Focused ETF is Asia’s Top Investment Pick for 2025," he writes that owning a diversified portfolio through an ETF is the best way to get involved in India. His pick is the WisdomTree India Earnings fund EPI because of its smart index methodology.
Peter Tchir’s favorite three areas of the market for 2025 are commercial real estate, commodity refining/extraction/logistics, and the “new” chip manufacturers. In "Forget AI and Quantum Computing, These are my 3 Best Investing Ideas for 2025," Tchir offers a series of ETFs. The Vanguard Real Estate Index Fund VNQ is his pick for playing commercial real estate, while his other picks are in energy: OIH, XLE, and CRAK; basic materials XME; and industrials PAVE.
Last, but Certainly Not Least, Stocks
There were 20 different stocks selected. From the aforementioned crypto play, DeFi Technologies, to companies that make more basic products like glasses or drugs. And even one airline.
Bob Byrne’s second pick was Marvell Technology MRVL, because it’s a "Rising Star in the AI-Powered Economy."
Bob Ciura views PPG Industries PPG as a "Top Dividend Growth Stock." This maker of paints and coatings was negatively affected by inflation, leaving shares significantly undervalued with an estimated annual return on your investment of nearly 16%.
Bob Lang offers a pick that he expects to pop "Thanks to Trump." The Intercontinental Exchange ICE will be the beneficiary of a business-friendly regulatory environment that could see additional companies IPO.
Brad Ginesin is a fan of First Solar FSLR and thinks that this "Utility-Scale Solar Name Will Be a Surprise Winner." Protectionist policies will favor domestic production and offer an additional tailwind to the clean energy manufacturing industry, which was already seeing robust growth.
Bret Jensen picks biopharma name Acadia Pharmaceuticals ACAD, which he expects solid, if not “lights out” performance from. The company should break out of its trading range due to it’s current drug pipeline and solid balance sheet. Bret feels that this name "Just Deserves More."
Doug Kass offered us his must-read "15 Big Surprises for 2025" as well as a "Top Stock Pick for 2025 that Takes Us Back to 1992," St. Joe Company JOE.
Ed Ponsi’s 2025 picks represent a somewhat diversified portfolio of "Four Stocks That Should Outperform the Market" taken from across the consumer discretionary, industrial, tech and transportation sectors. They are Warby Parker WRBY, CAE CAE, Palantir PLTR and Alaska Air ALK.
DePorre also offers two likely stock market outperformers, in addition to his Bitcoin play mentioned above. His "Top Stock Pick for Big Gains in 2025" is biotech Rocket Pharmaceuticals RCKT which could double on genetic therapies for rare diseases. Rev’s "Top Small-Cap Stock Pick Is a Familiar Name" in 2025, he’s revisiting the success he had in 2023 with Xeris Biopharma Holdings XERS, on hopes that they’ll take a share of the $3 billion market for hypothyroidism drugs.
"MoneyShow Experts Picked Their Top Financial Stocks for 2025." They expect the Federal National Mortgage Association FNMA, Nomura Holdings NMR, Goldman Sachs GS, and Morgan Stanley MS, and HTGC all to rip higher this year.
Tchir doesn’t pick individual stocks but he did lightly suggest that a semi-conductor name that begins with "I" and ends with "L" could be a name to look at, so, let’s add Intel INTC to his "Three Best Investing Ideas."
Last up is Stephen Guilfoyle, also known as "Sarge." He’s been right all year on Palantir PLTR and "Looks into the Future" to pick that stock again for 2025.
We wish you the best of luck in 2025!
