After Monday's market close, we'll get results from Palantir (PLTR) for the December quarter. As much as we’ll be paying close attention to the revenue and EPS numbers, management’s guidance, total contract value, and remaining deal value metrics, we’ll also be interested in two other things.
One is what is said about increasing AI adoption and usage across its customer base. Following the expanded Palantir relationship with HD Hyundai, we’re interested in similar comments that point to growing usage in the enterprise.
Second, what does Palantir share about how its internal use of AI is improving its workflow with customers and the degree to which that is helping expand its margins? The reason why we’re interested in this is that it would further showcase the difference between last week’s earnings reports from Meta (META) and Microsoft (MSFT) . In our view, Meta’s internal use of AI made it living proof of how AI adoption can benefit the enterprises that do so. That’s not something we heard much, if anything at all, about from Microsoft.
Hearing about the benefits of that internal adoption and usage inside Palantir would support our thinking that companies such as Meta, Palantir, Alphabet (GOOGL) , Amazon (AMZN) , and others like them bringing AI tools to market are likely to be the ones that see the earliest benefits. Other enterprises that are not developing such tools, and are aided by the likes of ServiceNow (NOW) , would be next in line to show those benefits.
And before we get any questions, yes, we’ll be mining comments from Alphabet and Amazon later this week when they report for further support. We’ll also be listening closely to what they have to say about 2026 capex levels.
