After you receive this Alert, we will sell 162 shares of Morgan Stanley (MS) at or near $179. Following the trade, MS shares will account for roughly 4.0% of the Pro Portfolio's assets.
Over the last few trading days, we’ve openly discussed that we were keeping a close watch on MS shares to see if their continued ascent would push them past a 4.5% position size in the Pro Portfolio. Indeed, that has happened, and it’s also led the Relative Strength Index (RSI) to push past 70, signaling that an overbought condition has emerged. That is leading us to bow to our discipline, a move that is locking in a very nice gain for us as well.
As it relates to our MS price target, we are looking to see how the IPO offerings from Wealthfront (WLTH), Lumexa Imaging (LMRI), and Cardinal Infrastructure Group (CDNL) price this week and gauge their initial aftermarket trading. Once we have that in hand, we’ll have a better sense of investor appetite for new listings and what that says about the IPO market as we approach the end of 2025 and get ready for 2026. We recently noted that there are multiple reasons to remain optimistic about IPO activity in the coming year, with the same being said for continued M&A activity.
Following this trade, Bank of America (BAC) will become the Pro Portfolio’s largest holding. Here, too, if BAC shares move past a 4.5% position size, another round of big register ringing is likely.
