| Symbol | Transaction Type | # Shares Traded | Recent Price $ | Shares Owned After Trade | % Portfolio |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
GOOGL | Buy | 73 | 167.25 | 1,108 | 3.65 |
SSSS | Buy | 6,200 | 7.40 | 13,700 | 2.0 |
After you receive this Alert, we will make the following trades:
-- Buy 73 shares of Alphabet GOOGL at or near $167.25. Following the trade, GOOGL shares will account for roughly 3.65% of the Pro Portfolio’s assets.
-- Buy 6,200 shares of SuRo Capital SSSS at or near $7.40. Following the trade, SSSS shares will account for about 2.0% of the Pro Portfolio's assets.
As Middle East tensions abate, we are buying more shares of Alphabet following a recent pullback that has landed them near our established "pickup point" of $165. We continue to see the company benefiting from the shift to digital advertising, especially with YouTube, and as it integrates AI into its search capabilities. Rising AI adoption also bodes well for Google Cloud, especially as incremental capacity comes on stream.
As we make our move this morning, Citi has bumped up its GOOGL target to $203 as the firm is "incrementally positive" on the broader online advertising macro environment, artificial intelligence innovation, and key growth drivers of the web.
We are also scooping up more shares of SuRo Capital following the continued climb in CoreWeave CRWV shares, which have increased another 15% since we started our position in SSSS. That move alone has us lifting our price target to $8.75, roughly 1x SuRo's expected net asset value per share, but appreciation in other assets since the end of Q1 2025 bring additional support.
As SuRo continues to monetize its portfolio, first with the recent IPO lockup expiration of ServiceTitan (TTAN) and the forthcoming one for CoreWeave in September, the company should resume its dividend stream to shareholders. With IPOs gaining further momentum, we could see other companies in its stable come to market, including beverage company Liquid Death and fintech company Plaid. As that potentially happens and corresponding IPO lockup expirations pass, it should translate into additional dividend payments.
We’d remind you of SuRo's business development structure, where it must pay out 90% of its income as distributions to shareholders. For that reason, our focus with SSSS shares is on total return, which considers capital appreciation in the stock plus collected dividends per share.
