After you receive this Alert, we will make the following trades:

-- Buy 1,830 shares of the ProShares Short S&P500 ETF SH at or near $42.15. Following the trade, SH shares will account for roughly 1.5% of the portfolio's holdings.

-- Buy 2,060 shares of the ProShares Short QQQ ETF PSQ at or near $37.45. Following the trade, PSQ shares will account for roughly 1.5% of the portfolio's holdings

Because of the uncertainty and potential impact of Trump tariffs as well as retaliatory measures from Canada, Mexico, and China, we are adding protection for the TheStreet Pro Portfolio in the form of these market inverse ETFs. We see these two holdings helping insulate the portfolio from near-term volatility without sacrificing its exposure to quality companies in what is likely to be a reactionary and turbulent market environment.

While we hope the duration that these two positions are in the portfolio will be short-lived, that length of time will hinge on multiple factors, including the market’s technical setup, including its relative strength index and oscillator levels, as well as trade and tariff negotiations. When we do remove SH and PSQ shares from the portfolio if we find compelling opportunities we will put the returned capital to work and if not, we’ll build back up our cash until they do.

Members that either because of their trading platforms cannot add SH or PSQ shares to their holdings or are risk averse to this potentially short-term trade, we would suggest sitting on the sidelines and waiting to put cash to work.

(Please note that we are looking to execute these trades at or near the share price mentioned above. Once the trade is completed, subscribers can see the trade's executed price here. Be sure to toggle the chart to sort by Purchase Date.)
